SchoolAdvantages.com provides an advanced method for letting students control their own website. Teachers are in control of who can edit and what they can edit. The teachers control the menus, but the students enter the content. School Advantages provides a safe, secure, powerful and simple way to let high-schools control their own content.
At Piepho Multimedia we specialize in web design projects for schools, churches, and small businesses. We have setup a specialized company called School Advantages to provide schools with a new product offered nowhere else.
Some schools use the School Advantages program do develop a "sports site" where they give information about school sports. Some use it as a journalism outlet. But our system could be used for just about anything. In fact, this entire website was designed with the same system that is being offered to you!
You can find more detailed information within our site, but basically the teacher is given master-access. This would let the teacher control all the menus and sub-menus in the school site. After creating a menu or sub-menu the student web designers are given blank spots to fill in information. But the best part is that the teacher has the ability to either grant editing access or restrict editing access on any page, for each student. It is all very handy and simple!
Each student gets their own account and can only edit the parts of the website you would allow.
Plus, there is also a complete messaging system that allows students to request access or even ask questions to the teachers. It also gives the teacher the option to respond or not.
The system allows students or the teacher to upload graphics to be used in the website as well. It is a fully functional system designed specifically for web-design classes. It runs completely online, so you can run and access it from anywhere!
